Figure 1: All three edtions of MusicBee, are shown above. The 3rd. Version, for Windows 10, from the Microsoft Store, appears to be the same version as the Installer Edition and the Portable Edition (surprisingly, no fee from the Store). Updates should not be that frequent, since this program was first released in 2008, with the latest release in 2025. [Attention was brought to MusicBee by club participant, Steven Parker, who was especially impressed with sound quality, on his system, from the MusicBee player.] This player handles many formats:- FLAC, MP3, M4A, Ogg, Opus, Tak, Wav, and Musepack. [High end audio cards will appreciate Windows support for WASAPI (Windows Audio Session API for streaming) and ASIO (Audio Stream In / Out).] Automatic gain ensures consistent volume through its automated playlists, while synchronizing to Android devices. It can also download the music artwork, which integrates with the new mini player. I tried the Windows Store Edition, which appears to be the same as the Installer Edition. [My concern with using the store version... would it create a Music folder on One Drive? It does not appear to do that. My music folders on this test computer had only a few dozen tracts.]
Figure 3: The MusicBee Start Screen... no mention of a One Drive (mine is empty)
Figure 4: Right clicking on a track shows many drop downs. Many other right click options exist. For example, Wikipedia, Last.fm, YouTube, and Song Facts. [Song Facts, for Jackson Browne, listed his complete song titles, with detailed text notes, and the ability to play most songs.]
