Puran Software, programmed in India, offers about 20 Utilities. This free title - Puran File Recovery - covers only one of them. File Recovery handles just about any storage format, including memory cards, and CD/DVDs. It supports FAT 12/16/32, exFAT, and NTFS. along with RAW drives (those with a missing file system, that is "unformatted").

In other words, "If Windows can see the drive, File Recovery can get it." Although Recuva is our usual 'go-to' for file recovery, this software deserves a try.

Use the Quick Scan, or the more penetrating Deep Scan (for re-formatted drives). In addition to Quick and Deep Scans, use the Full Scan to search inactive partitions

I tried an 8 GB SD card. The Deep Scan found 136 files, in about 7 minutes. Note the preview window for images.
