Cloud hosted datacenters, including Microsoft's Azure, Amazon Web Services and others are becoming increasingly common platforms for business. Providing redundancy, flexibility and scalability in a pay-for-use model allows many businesses to provide a level of service that wouldn't be possible in a traditional model. With all the advantages, there are still hazards to avoid.
This session will provide an overview of Oshawa's On-premise infrastructure and how it allows the City to avoid common cloud-centric risks.
