Distance Education

March 22, 2004 Oshawa, ON - Distance education is about flexibility. It is the anytime / anywhere burgeoning trend in education. Distance Education conforms to your work schedule and can be accessed day or night regardless of time zones, whether you are traveling, living at a distance or internationally.

Cindy Foley, Program Officer Distance Education at Durham College, will demonstrate the workings of online courses as an alternative environment to the Durham PC Users' Club on Thursday, April 8.

Online learning at Durham College is offered through OntarioLearn, a consortium consisting of 22 Ontario Colleges. Since the introduction of online courses through Durham College, Continuing Education has shown consistent growth, resulting in Durham's being a leader in student enrollment within the consortium, with approximately 7,000 registrants in distance education courses over the past year.

The Durham PC Users' Club meets the second Thursday of every month at 7:00 p.m. in Faith United Church, 1778 Nash Road, Courtice. Everyone is welcome.
