HARD DRIVE SURVIVAL

Basic Tips and Techniques for ordinary people

How to divide and conquer your hard drive - it sounds like an all-out war on the bits and bytes of your computer system, the kind of thing you really don't want to get involved with.

But, there are major benefits that accrue from the knowledge gained by getting involved and taking control. It really isn't all that difficult, if you follow the routine, using PartitionMagic v.8 as outlined by our Club librarian Bob Rife. He will be passing on his expertise as well as featuring a detailed CD designed by PowerQuest's Gene Barlow

The explanation of hard-disk know-how and strategies takes place at the Durham PC Users' Club monthly meeting, 7 p.m. Thursday, August 14, 2003 at Faith United Church in Courtice.

Bob, a retired journalist, who is now known for his monthly Rife Report on the Club website, and his numerous newsletter articles, has agreed to fill in for Gene Barlow. Gene could not attend due to West Coast commitments that conflict with the date, but he said Bob's extensive background with PartitionMagic and other PowerQuest utilities "makes him well-suited as his deputy speaker" for the presentation of Discovering your Hard Disk.
